Project description:
This large, new bus storage and maintenance facility incorporated the latest technology in its equipment and was designed to increase efficiency in the client’s operations. It included a new three-storey office building, two new maintenance workshops, new bus washing facilities and a new LPG & diesel refuelling facility. Extensive civil works included concrete hardstand paving to accommodate 220 STA buses and new public roadway connections. A highly visible feature of the project is the 300m long x 8m high acoustic barrier constructed from precast concrete panels with a corrugated, patterned finish
Early, detailed planning allowed our team to overcome the many project constraints and challenges including:
- Working in and around a fully functioning bus depot, operating 365 days a year
- Installing163 feature precast concrete panels to create the curved sound walls and retaining walls
- Implementing the very detailed staging plans require to ensure that operations were not interrupted
