In the last 12 months A W Edwards has again demonstrated its exceptional skills in building special projects for special clients. The trouble-free processes and high quality, high value results achieved on two major industrial projects ably demonstrate this capability.
$54m George Weston Foods Bakery
This new bakery is one of the largest in the world and one of the most modern. It will be capable of producing 27,000 loaves per hour as it becomes fully operational.
This 25,000 square metre specialised food manufacturing facility features a high-tech “Spantech” roof supported by a large steel portal frame structure, creating three “halls”. These three sections house the mixing, baking and dispatch processes. Edwards’ contract included extensive external works including car parks, roads and landscaping.
In conjunction with the project consultants, GHD, we also assisted in the installation of the automated bakery equipment.
